You must provide us a layout of your units on the site. This allows us to show you how the gateways and alarms need to be laid out. They will be color coded so you will know exactly where certain alarms go.
What Type Walls Do You Have Inside Your Storage Units? (3)
We will need to know if you plan to use magnets to attach the alarms to the unit walls or if you will be using our screw down brackets. If you have metal walls, it is a much easier installation to use the magnets. If you have wood or sheetrock walls, you will have to use the screw down brackets.
You Must Have A 110 Power Supply Within 6′ Of The Gateway ? (4)
The gateways require a 110 power outlet.
You Will Need A CAT6 Cable? (5)
You will need a CAT6 cable to be ran from your locations network over to the shelf where you will be installing your gateway.
You Will Need A Shelf To Place The Gateway On? (6)
You will need a shelf inside the unit where you can place the gateway. Some storage owners place these in actual tenant units and others place them in maintenance units. We have also seen customer place them in hallways up high on a shelf. You can see in the second photo, the shelf is placed up high in the hallway.

NOTE: Do not change the type of alarms if you only have one gateway. If you have only one gateway, this means you have an “A” gateway along with “A” alarms.

Always be sure to make a list of exactly which alarm was installed in which unit. You will need to prepare a list showing every unit at your location. Then, you will write down the serial number listed on the outside of the alarm and assign it to the specific unit where the alarm is installed. You can assign alarms using the Alarm Installer App but its important that you have this hard copy as well. Always have a hard copy of this.
