Good afternoon. We’re reaching out to inform you of an important update regarding Spiderdoor’s overlocking services.
As you may be aware, Spiderdoor has been involved in litigation with DaVinci Lock over the past two years concerning their overlocking patents. After efforts to invalidate these patents were unsuccessful, Spiderdoor has reached a settlement with DaVinci Lock and agreed to a permanent injunction to cease any further infringement. As a result, Spiderdoor will discontinue all overlocking services effective June 1, 2025.
To support a smooth transition, DaVinci has offered all current Spiderdoor overlock users complimentary access to their Premium Overlocking Package for two years, royalty-free. Additionally, they will provide free replacement locks on a one-to-one basis, should you choose to transition to their system. Please note that participation is completely optional. However, Spiderdoor’s overlocking functionality will no longer be available and functioning, after June 1, 2025. If you choose to migrate to DaVinci’s platform, we’ve added a new button in your manager’s Spiderdoor admin panel to assist with the process. This feature allows you to download an Excel spreadsheet containing lock serial numbers, unlock codes, unit associations, and other relevant data. This report is designed to help streamline your transition and can be provided directly to DaVinci. Please note: the report reflects data at the time it is generated. Any changes made after generation will not be reflected, and a new report will need to be created.
No further updates or improvements will be executed for overlocks!
